Objective:

Experience:

DCS Engineer: 3/2009 - Present
  • DCS Engineer working on system designs for some of the leading oil, gas and offshore petrochemical automation projects. Project experience in configuring ABB 800xA DCS as well as exposure to ABB Advant and AMPL programming. Responsible for producing design specs, URS, FDS and system configuration and programming.

Control Systems Designer: 6/2005 - 3/2009
  • Quoted, designed, tested and commissioned PLC and SCADA systems for industrial control and automation applications for power generation, food & beverage, pharma and manufacturing industries
  • Senior technical lead for ABB 800xA and Cimplicity PE technologies as well as main customer contact for three major clients
  • Also familiar with industry standard software including Cimplicity ME, Wonderware, KepWare and Concept
  • Thousands of hours of experience commissioning automation projects in Canada, USA and abroad

  • Designed, tested and commissioned Human Machine Interface screens for Electric Arc Furnace product stream
  • Implemented PLC code to calculate Torch Cutting Machine velocity for display on HMI screen
  • Interacted with operators and electricians to determine useful features for HMI screens

Field Test Co-Op EIT: 9/2003 - 12/2003

  • Performed dielectric, acoustic emission, MPI and mechanical inspections on aerials and fire trucks
  • Interacted with customers on a daily basis and created repair reports based on field test results
  • Became familiar with applicable EUSA and CSA standards

Hardware Team Co-Op EIT: 1/2003 - 4/2003

  • Documented hardware functionality of the Boeing 777 Environmental Control system
  • Tested and debugged development hardware for the Boeing 777 Cabin Air Supply program
  • Created test scripts in the VisionCLICK software package for use by technicians
